Five Civilized Tribes Museum’s Masters Art Show
November 1 - November 30$1.50 - $5
Join us for the 44th Annual Masters Art Show in the museum’s beautiful upstairs gallery. Here visitors have a chance to view and purchase one of a kind, original, Native American artwork.
In 1973, Martin Wiesendanger, who was at that time judging the Seventh Annual Competitive Art Show, conceived the idea of the Masters classification. He said, “When an artist has studied and achieved acclaim from the world, is well-established in his career and has demand and sales for his work, he has joined the rank of Master. It is my suggestion that a special category be established for such artists at the annual exhibition, removing proven talent to an area where their work stands alone, as it should.”
