Honor Heights Park

Honor Heights Park

The crown jewel in the extensive park system of Muskogee is Honor Heights Park. Home to the famous Azalea Festival each spring, as well as numerous other events, Honor Heights Park is a gorgeous oasis in the midst of Muskogee. With over 30,000 azaleas, the Park bursts into life each spring and summer with a spectrum of color. The park also includes numerous other flowering plants and trees, as well as walking trails, ponds, picnic areas, playgrounds and sports courts. The park is the perfect place to stroll and enjoy the beauty of nature, see butterflies in the Papilion Butterfly House and gardens, bird watch, fish and more. Visitors can enjoy azaleas and tulips each spring, butterflies in the Papilion Mother’s Day weekend through September, and Garden of Lights Thanksgiving through New Year’s Day.  Annual events include Azalea Festival Banner Auction and Herb Fest in May, Symphony in the Park in June, Moonlights and Monarchs in September, Papilion Pumpkin Painting in October, and Garden of Lights Festivities during the holiday season.
