If you want to experience great blues music in a down home authentic setting, then this Blues Festival is for you. Held annually around Labor Day for the past 17 years in the historically black town of Rentiesville, the Blues Festival brings dozens of bands to the stage. The Down Home Blues Club, site of the weekend event, was founded by the late blues legend D.C. Minner whose lifelong goal was to encourage and train blues musicians. Many return to Rentiesville year after year to be a part of the Blues Festival. Bring your lawn chair or blanket and sit under the stars for the non-stop performances. Food vendors and kids’ activities are a part of the festive event.
